actually see how big this was. and the cancer that has grown within news international. >> ultimately the issue is how far up the company it reached, whether it did get to rupert murdoch or his son or his rebekah brooks. there's conflicting reports right now about news corporation possibly replacing rupert murdoch as the ceo of the company. we're not sure that's exactly happening. but if so, what's the implication? >> oh, if murdoch were to step down, or bereplaced, i don't put too much credence on that report that you're talking about, if that were to be true that would be seismic. you know, this has been bubbly up. we started with the low lives the journalists and the reporters that were sent to prison. then we have gone to rebekah

brooks and gone up the ladder a little bit more. got rid of the commissioner of police and his number two. now, of course, james murdoch's position is in question as head of the bskyb. and we shouldn't get excited about the truth of this. if murdoch has decided, age 80-plus, time for him to step down, that would be seismic. at the moment, our attention today, should be focused on why murdoch and his henchmen did such a terrible job of investigating the allegations and who knew what? >> yeah, richard, we'll watch it carefully throughout the course of the morning here in the united states. richard quest outside of the british parliament where testimony is set to begin very short sli. two weeks to go until america runs out of the bill.
